POOVAR ISLAND | GOLDEN SAND BEACH | BACKWATERS, TRIVANDRUM, KERALA. IS IT WORTH?

Poovar island, Kerala backwaters

It was our first trip to the land of god – Kerala. Vikrant signed off from Trivandrum & it turned out to be a random trip. . It was our second day in Trivandrum & we planned to go sightseeing.
Check out YouTube video covering it all in the end of article.

Kerala is known for its natural beauty, backwaters & beaches. We already visited Kovalam beach. So, it was time for the backwaters. Hence, we decided to go & explore Poovar Boathouse & beaches.

Poovar boathouse was recommended to us by one of our friend. We took our outstation Ola cab from Kovalam since normal Ola cabs were not agreeing to go. It took us around half an hour to reach Poovar boathouse.

On the reception, you may find staff who will provide you tariffs & plans to ride on the boat. They have standard charges hourly basis. We chose for 1.5 hours ride costing 3500 Rs. Our package included half an hour of lunch break extra on another boathouse restaurant. The boat gave us tour to backwaters which are its natural habitat & untouched by commercialisation. The lush green wilds will make you feel like sitting right in the centre Mother nature.

I will recommend, don’t go for longer hour rides since, it becomes little exhausting after a while. It is totally worth it to visit this place at least once if you are there in Trivandrum. Also, keep caring your skin in your travel since travel can leave damaged.

Our stay was in “Turtle Gokulam” Kovalam which is five star property. I have given room tour in my earlier video.

You may book the hotel through “Make my trip” or any other booking portal. Always check your property once you enter in your hotel room to see its perfect for your comfortable stay. You should not settle for less than you paid. Make my trip has helped us through our booking & solve the issues with hotels.
